The answer is relatively easy, either use the IP address of the sip server directly, or use one of your provider&amp;#39;s other sip servers. The latter is probably the better approach (incase IP addresses change). My provider has numerous servers (sip02 etc) and I&amp;#39;ve noticed my ATA only ever uses sip01, so I just set up asterisk to use other of the other servers (I actually use sip.mynetfone.com.au which seems to work fine).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Edit: actually sip*.mynetfone.com.au all seem to resolve to the one IP address anyway.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2764833665376584163/6643030427581018627/comments/default/2871677968743230545'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2764833665376584163/6643030427581018627/comments/default/2871677968743230545'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rants.atmurray.net/2009/12/how-to-make-use-of-locked-voip-ata-with.html?showComment=1260849237460#c2871677968743230545' title=''/><author><name>Alan Murray</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/10897248504675680704</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://rants.atmurray.net/2009/12/how-to-make-use-of-locked-voip-ata-with.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2764833665376584163.post-6643030427581018627' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2764833665376584163/posts/default/6643030427581018627' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-569164343'/></entry></feed>
